Blizzards to make comeback

Don’t worry, we’re not talking about the weather, but The Blizzards!

Yes, the rumours are true. The Blizzards’ original five members are reuniting and are penning an album due for release later this year.

Frontman Niall Breslin, Justin Ryan, Anthony Doran, Declan Murphy and Aidan Lynch, who had a string of hits with Trouble, Fantasy and Trust Me I’m A Doctor, split in 2009.

The Mullingar outfit had never ruled out reforming, and Bressie stated earlier this year that he’d love to see it but only if all the members were “hungry” for it.

“I am completely open to it – I’d like it to happen naturally as we all still remain really close friends,” he told The Mirror.

“I wouldn’t hide the fact the last time I really enjoyed playing live was with The Blizzards.

“It’s just a different thing for me, it’s a different feeling.”

They will not make any public appearances yet though, and have also ruled out rumours that they are to perform at this year’s Electric Picnic, until the album is written.
