Heatwave on the way temperatures to reach 27 degrees
If you've any holidays to take now would be a good time do so with a heatwave predicted for Ireland next week!
According to Midland Weather Channel's Cathal Nolan, the mercury will hit heatwave temperatures of 26 - 27 degrees Celsius by next Wednesday.
"It will be wild in terms of Irish weather, we're not used to temperatures like this, but we won't be complaining," he told the Westmeath Examiner.
"Monday will start out dry and bright and will bring values of 21 - 22 degrees. There will be similar conditions on Tuesday but with a bit more cloud," he explained.
"By Wednesday though the temperatures will hit heatwave levels of 26 - 27 degrees in some parts of the midlands."
However, this extreme hot weather, there also comes a downside - an increased chance of thundery downpours.
"There are a couple of strong weather fronts coming to a head, so you never know, we might get to see some great lightening shows."
