Unseasonable autumnal weather to persist
The wet and dreary weather might have us all checking our calendars to make sure that it is in fact, July.
But according to Midland Weather Channel’s Cathal Nolan the summer “has bypassed Ireland for 2015” altogether.
That’s thanks the location of the jet stream, which normally for this time of year lies to the north, bringing bright sunny days and warm breezes.
The weather has been anything but normal however for this time of year.
“The coming week will be very unsettled. Tuesday will see plenty of showery rain, Wednesday will have less showers. Thursday will be the best day of the week and remain mostly dry. Friday is to start out dry but with rain returning that evening and overnight,” reports Cathal.
“There is a huge amount of uncertainty around the weekend. How unsettled it may be we just don’t know yet.
"The worst case scenario is that winds along the Atlantic coast could reach 110kms per hour, in the midlands, they could reach between 90 - 100kms in exposed areas. As it so far ahead in weather terms this may never occur at all, as it’s only speculation beyond five days.”
