Video heros welcome for special olympics medalwinner peter

Ballymore gave a huge welcome home last night, Tuesday August 4, to Special Olympic hero, Peter Malynn, who won two medals in California.

Besides family, friends and locals, among those who attended were the Bishop of Meath, Most Rev Dr Michael Smith, Dáil deputy Robert Troy; the mayor of the Athlone Municipal District, Cllr Tom Farrell, as well as Fr Philip Smith, PP, Ballymore, Fr Christopher Fox, from Boher, Fr Paul Crosbie, Mullingar.

Mr Malynn was driven through the village in an open-topped sports car, and there was music to welcome him provided by Ballymore Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
