Sun beams down on ballymores country music festival
There may have been flooding along the promenade in Salthill on Monday - but in Ballymore, the sun always shines on the August Bank Holiday, and this year was no different.
In a glorious lakeside setting, all the big names from the Irish country scene were on hand to enthrall the massive crowd who attended what was a fabulous show.
Brendan Shine, Nathan Carter, Mike Denver, Derek Ryan, Jimmy Buckley, Johnny Brady, The Sheerins and Lisa McHugh were among the performers, while the compere was Eddie Rowley of The Sunday World.
A special presentation was made to Brendan Shine to mark his fifty years in the entertainment industry, and the veteran Athlone performer showed he still has in bucketfuls, the talent that has kept him at the top of his game for so long.
The festival was the third held since the revival of the event, which originally ran from 1972 into the 1980s.
