Music celebs to judge this years cu factor

CU Factor is a national Credit Union talent competition and Mullingar Credit Union is holding a round this year. The CU Factor is open to ages 12 to 19 years.

The competition is designed to show the talents of the youth in Mullingar and its hinterland. We have some talented musicians, singers and dancers in our area and CU factor gives those individuals the opportunity on the local stage, said a spokesperson for Mullingar CU.

“I would encourage the youth of our area to get involved this year. We are delighted to announce Anthony Doran, former member of the Blizzards, as one of our judges, along with the talented Angela Lynch, musical director of Mullingar Arts Centre, and Emmet Cahill, an excellent solo performer.”

The local round is in Mullingar Arts Centre on Saturday September 26 at 7.30pm. There will be a first prize of €300, a second prize of €200 and by third prize of €100. The closing date for entries is Saturday September 12 at 5pm.

The top two acts from the local stage will go forward to a regional credit union final in the Town Hall Theatre, Ballinasloe, on Saturday October 24. A national final takes place on Saturday November 7 in Ballinasloe.
