Culture night events around westmeath
Culture Night 2015 kicks off early this Friday morning with events lined up around Mullingar, Castlepollard, Fore Finea, Ballinalack, Ballynacargy, Moate and Athlone.
Culture Night is an annual all-island public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts.
It encourages more people to visit cultural venues and reminds us all about the fantastic cultural facilities and resources that we have in Westmeath.
Most of the events are free so check out the list below!
Mullingar Arts Centre have two performances of Fallen at 10.30am and 8pm, the Chimera Gallery above Days Bazaar hosts an exhibition by Kate Beegan from 6pm, where there will also be readings of poetry by Paul Timony.
An exhibtion by Mike Terrett, The Mirror and The Maze, is on in The Atrium all day, while in the Greville Arms, there will be a Mullingar Harp School Recital at 7pm.
Ruth Illingworth will be giving walking tours on Art and Sculpture starting at the Cathedral of Christ the King at 12pm, and later at All Saints Church at 6.30pm.
In Columb Barracks, Claire Garry will host a Family Evening of crafts from 5pm.
In the Market House and Market Square, events will carry on right throughout the day, with a dance performance from the Dance Factory at 5pm; a Children's Book Reading and Doodle class with Dolores Keaveney from 5pm; , Poetry in the Park Open Mic Night from 7pm.
