Indian summer set to be the best in the midlands
The glorious sunshine that dominated the weekend looks set to continue as a section of high pressure dominates Ireland and so the arrival of an Indian summer.
The outlook for the rest of the week is dry, bright, and settled according to Met Éireann. At night however, temperatures will drop during the twilight hours, meaning patches of dense fog, and motorists should be prepared.
Tuesday is forecast to be another dry and sunny day with temperatures reaching the late teens, between 15 - 19 degrees Celsius in the midlands.
Tuesday night, the mercury is to drop back down to between 5 - 9 degrees, and so there will be long clear spells, but mist and fog in parts too.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will see overnight fog clear quickly, and the best values will be in the midlands but possibly not as hot as experienced earlier in the week.
Next week the blocking high looks set to continue, bringing plenty of nice autumnal sunshine, however temperatures will move closer to normal for this time of year.
Motorists should also take note of the low sun angle, which could make it hard to see if driving in the direction of the sunrise.
