Its the time of year for giant spiders

It's the time of year for giant spiders apparently, but this one captured on camera in an Irish kitchen has to be seen to be believed!

This arachnid spider was discovered in a Cork home by one 37-year-old Gavin O'Donovan. 

Filmed in his kitchen, Mr Gavin was reported as saying he had no idea what species it was, but this may a cardinal spider, or the "wolf" spider.

The influx of "harvest" spiders, as they are more commonly known, is due to the time of year when they go looking to mate.
