Met ireann issue status orange fog warning

A status orange fog warning has been issued and is due to continue until 11am.

Dense fog is affecting many areas leading to hazardous driving conditions including Mullingar.

Some are reporting visibility of less than 50 meters.

The advice is slow down and keep your fog lights on.

The fog will be slow to clear and may linger until the middle of the day in some midland and western areas according to Met Éireann.

Today will be another dry day with sunny spells developing for most areas but cloud will increase in the late afternoon.

Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees with light variable breezes or calm.
