Labour party conference returns to mullingar

The Labour Party 2016 Conference will take place on Saturday January 30 at the Mullingar Park Hotel, the party has announced.

Labour TD for Longford Westmeath Willie Penrose said: “I’m looking forward to welcoming Joan Burton to Mullingar, for this crucial party conference.

“I also look forward to welcoming to Westmeath the 1,000 or so delegates, media, dignitaries and invited guests who are expected to attend the event.

“This will provide a significant boost for the local economy.

“Of course, we have held many Labour Party national events here, all of which have been a great success, including the 2009 national conference.

“I fought hard to get the conference brought back to Mullingar in 2016, and I’m glad to say that the effort has paid off.”
