Westmeath County Council site suspected to be among those hit in DDOS attack
The website of Westmeath County Council is among those hit in what appears to be a major cyber attack on official Irish websites.
Many of the government departments have been affected, including the Department of Finance, the Department of Justice, the Department of Defence, and also the HSE website, the gardaí, the Central Statistics Office and the Oireachtas.
Not all county councils are affected: Longford, Meath and Roscommon are all working.
Earlier this week the National Lottery and boards.ie were both hit by massive DDOS attacks.
