Noel Briody makes the Glór Tire final!
By Olga Aughey
Country music star Noel Briody from Oldcastle has made it to the final three contestants of Glór Tire.
The live final airs this Wednesday night, April 20, on TG4 at 10.30pm.
Noel will battle it out against Kerry Fearon from Newry who was saved by the judges last week, and Tyrone’s Gavin McAloon, for the grand prize of €5,000.
There is a very special guest lined up for the finalé but so far the identity of the star has been kept under wraps.
“It’s all down to the votes this week, the judges don’t have any power, so once again I’m asking everyone to support me,” Noel tells the Westmeath Examiner. “The winner will be revealed on the night.
“I’m thrilled to have made it to the final. I didn’t think this far ahead when I first entered the competition,” Noel continues. As yet the midlands singer says he has yet to decide what two songs he will perform.
“It has been an amazing experience to be part of the show,” says Noel. “Working with Jimmy Buckley, learning all about how television works, and the amazing support I’ve received from the people of the midlands right throughout - it’s just been fantastic.”
Noel who is a familiar face on the social scene in Mullingar, Castlepollard, Crowenstown, and all across the midlands, hopes to move more into the social dancing aspect of things once Glór Tire finishes.
“Just to have made it to the final is a dream come true for me. Of course it would fantastic to win it, but you never know how the text vote will go. I’m grateful to all those who have supported me this far and to the Westmeath Examiner for all your help. I’d ask everyone to text their vote for me this one last time.”
