Mullingar traffic survey will provide 'significant data'
The ongoing traffic study being in done in Mullingar as part of the town enhancement scheme will provide the council with significant data about the habits of motorists driving through the town, Cllr Mick Dollard was informed at the March meeting of the MMD.
The Labour man had inquired if the study would indicate the number of cars driving through the town without stopping “to do business”.
Official Martin Murray said that while it will provide significant data including how long each car stopped, the data hadn’t been collated yet. The study maps motorists’ habits through the GPS on their mobile phones, Mr Murray said.
Cllr Dollard was also informed that the roundabout at the junction of the old N4 and Ardmore Road will be improved during the development of Curraghmore National School.
