Eye witness praises actions of motorist who helped at scene of accident
A person who arrived on the scene of the accident on the Delvin Road, Mullingar yesterday afternoon has told the Westmeath Examiner that a another driver at the scene "jumped out of her car and took over before the ambulance arrived".
He praised her quick responses to the emergency and expressed his sincere hope that the child who was injured is ok.
A baby girl was described as being in a serious condition following the two car accident, which happened at around 4.30pm.
There is no official update on the condition of the child, or the other four people who were taken to the regional hospital in Mullingar following the incident.
The road was closed for a time and diversions were in place.
