10 thefts from cars in one estate in Mullingar on one night
Following approximately 10 thefts from cars in one housing estate in Mullingar on one night at the weekend, Sgt John Connolly has issued this statement.
“We are finding that a high percentage of home owners leave their cars unlocked by reason of the fact that that they think they are safe within their front gardens. This is not the case, unfortunately.
“We are finding that our criminals can check on a number of cars in a housing estate very quickly and take whatever is of value from them.
“We would again ask car owners to lock their vehicles at all times when they are leaving them unattended.
“No items of value should be left visible within the car.”
Report suspicious activity and contact Sgt John Connolly Crime Prevention Officer at Mullingar Garda Station, should you require specific advice.
