Burke welcomes improved 115 bus timetable for Mullingar

Deputy Peter Burke has confirmed that significant improvements will be made to the 115 Mullingar Bus timetable, from September 2.

The Mullingar TD outlined the changes that will come into force:

“It is fantastic news that Route 115 is being enhanced to provide a much increased level of service to all locations along the route,” he said.

“One of the first meetings I held on my election was with a group of Mullingar commuters who use this bus and who had issues with the route and some operational matters of the service.

“I raised this matter with the minister for transport and also met representatives from the NTA and Bus Éireann, along with my colleague Cllr Andrew Duncan.

“I am delighted that changes will be implemented from September 2.

“Major improvements within the enhanced timetable will be a core 30min frequency to/from Kilcock throughout the day and a core 60min frequency to/from Mullingar and Dublin throughout the day.

“There will be additional services to/from Mullingar in the morning and evening peak in addition to the Core 60 min frequency – departure times to be confirmed.

“Peak services to/from Mullingar will no longer serve Kilcock or Maynooth and will operate limited stop to/from the city centre providing the quickest possible journey time – express type services.

Also I am glad to note that connectivity to Maynooth in the morning peak will be maintained for Mullingar students studying in Maynooth.

“There will be increased evening services along the whole route, as well as an increased Saturday timetable along the whole route, an increased Sunday timetable along the whole route and more journeys to Summerhill, Longwood, Ballivor and Killucan.

“The bus services key towns in north Westmeath such as Mullingar, Kinnegad and Raharney and goes to key locations in Dublin; Liffey Valley, Heuston Station, O’Connell Street and Busáras/Connolly station.
