Clerical appointments announced in the Diocese of Meath

 

A number of priests in the Meath diocese are being transferred to new positions, including the present administrator of Mullingar parish, Fr Padraig McMahon, who is appointed Parish Priest of Athboy and Vicar Forane.

 

Replacing Fr McMahon as administrator is Fr Paul Crosbie, who was formerly the diocesan secretary and curate in Mullingar.

The new diocesan secretary is to be Rosemount native, Fr Joe Campbell, who will also serve as curate in Mullingar.

Also joining the team at Cathedral House in Mullingar as curate is Fr Williams Awoshiri.

Other changes will see Fr Seamus Houlihan appointed parish priest of Kilcormac; Fr Liam Malone appointed parish priest of Nobber-Kilbeg; Fr Richard Matthews appointed parish priest of Slane and Fr Eusebius Tulbure appointed curate in Kells.

Fr Padraig McMahon was appointed curate in Mullingar in 2008 and administrator at the Cathedral twelve months later. As native of Kingscourt, he has worked in Navan, Clara and Rosemount parishes while also serving as director of primary school catechetics from for eight years.

Fr Joseph Campbell was ordained in his home parish of on 19 June 2010 and served as curate in St Mary’s Parish, Drogheda since September 2010. Among his various roles in the Diocese of Meath, he has assisted as vocations director and a member of the diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes.
