Works in Mullingar centre to begin mid-September

The contractors that will be doing the work in Mullingar town centre in the coming months are due to begin setting up their compound next week.

Their base is expected to be next to the main council car park in Blackhall.

Work is scheduled to being in mid-September.

The first phase wil be the traffic management preparations at Dominick Square.

This information, and full details of the project, are on display this afternoon, Thursday August 23, (till 6pm) at Áras an Chontae in Mullingar.

Officials from Westmeath County Council and represetatives of the contractors, Careys, are present to take questions.

No business will have to close during the period of the works, a council official said.
