Queens of country prepare for ‘Pink Ribbon Jamboree'
Mullingar is the place to be for fans of country music today Monday October 22.
Queens of Irish country music including Philomena Begley, Sandy Kelly, Kathy Durkin, Cliona Hagan and Olivia Douglas, are hosting a special concert to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, at Mullingar Park Hotel, to help raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.
This promises to be a night not to be missed and each of the artists is donating her time to help make a difference for the many Irish women suffering from breast cancer.
Every year one in nine Irish women is affected by breast cancer and there are 3,000 cases diagnosed annually – a number predicted to continue increasing.
Funds raised from ‘The Pink Ribbon Jamboree’ will help support the research team led by Prof Michael Kerin at the Lambe Institute, University Hospital, Galway.
MC on the night will be Gary Gamble but there are rumours he might have help from no less a star than Daniel O’Donnell.
Tickets for the event are €20 each with all proceeds going to the charity.
They’re on sale now by contacting the Mullingar Park Hotel on 044 933 7500.
A ticket and accommodation package is also available for €75 per person sharing.
