Multiple choices this week at Mullingar's busy Arts Centre

Mullingar Arts Centre continues to deliver a line-up of top entertainment with your only dilemma being, which to choose.

This week, there are musical performances on Friday and Saturday evening.

On Friday night, it's time to get the revelries going with Oh What A Night: A Celebration of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

The show which had a sell-out run at the Tivoli Theatre in Dublin, will include favourites like 'Big Girls Don't Cry', 'Walk Like a Man', 'Oh What a Night' and many more that you may have almost forgotten you knew!

A nostalgic trip down memory lane, this show will remind you exactly why The Four Seasons sold over 100 million records and earned themselves a place in the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Prepare to let your hair down and sing and dance along on Friday evening November 16.

Music is on the menu again on Saturday albeit of a different variety with one of Ireland's finest guitarists, Dónal Clancy, son of the world renowned singer Liam Clancy, of Clancy Brothers and Makem and Clancy fame, taking to the Mullingar Arts Centre stage.

Dónal's father gave him his first guitar at the age of eight and he was playing professionally by his early teens.

A founder member of the group Danú, Dónal also previously played in a trio with his father Liam and cousin Robbie O'Connell.

He also toured and recorded with Riverdance fiddler, Eileen Ivers.

Since the death of his father, Donal has focused his attention on the family repertoire of songs that he grew up with, while keeping the Clancy tradition alive with his solo performances.

Donal, who now lives in Ireland with his wife Mary and their three children, released his first solo guitar album Close To Home in 2009.

Subsequent albums, Songs of a Roving Blade and On the Lonesome Plain are regarded by critics as “folk singing at its best”.

So if trad' is your thing, Saturday is the night to be booked into Mullingar Arts Centre.
