Leinster trophies visit Wilson's Hospital
On Wednesday March 13, Wilson's Hospital School, Multyfarnham welcomed the Heineken European Cup and Pro 14 trophies to Multyfarnham.
These trophies were won by Leinster in 2018. The visit was facilitated by Patsy Gorman (Midlands CCRO) and was a very welcome surprise to students in morning assembly.
Each of the four school rugby teams got an opportunity to get a photo with the cup as did the captains and our Midlands representatives at U15 and U16 level.
Reuben Wright and Eddie Glass were selected for the U16 Midlands squad based on performances for the school. Before Christmas Reuben unfortunately broke his wrist shortly after being selected and has not yet played a game.
Eddie has played two game against the North East U16s and Metro U16s and continues to train with the squad on a weekly basis.
Matthew Bruton, Max Ripley, Ross Ashmore (all Mullingar RFC) and Sam Mills (Longford RFC) are all part of the Midlands U15s squad. They have been selected based on their performances for club and school and, after they complete their summer program, hope to be selected for the U16s squad and compete for the Shane Horgan Cup next season.
