Curraghmore school defers enrolment

Statement from the Board of Management of Curraghmore National School (Holy Family Primary School).

“The Board of Management of Curraghmore NS, after due consideration and with the approval of the patron, given the extenuating circumstances, have taken the decision that it must defer the enrolment of any new student for the academic year 2020-2021 commencing September 1, 2020 until the new school is formally handed over.”

Parents Association in support

"The Parents Association of Curraghmore, Holy Family National School, fully support the Board of Management and its staff in the insistence that the new school needs to be completed and handed over prior to enrolment being able to proceed.

"Due to repeated delays in completion of this school, it would be unsafe, unreasonable and infeasible to undertake the enrolment process for September 2020 at this time.

"It is extremely regrettable that this is the current situation but due to the need for the provision of a safe school environment, the new school is essential for the school population.

"A public meeting is to be held on Thursday 16 January 2020 in Mullingar Park Hotel at 8pm to discuss this."
