Planning sought for Clonmellon development

Planning permission has been sought for what would be one of the biggest development in Clonmellon in years.
The application submitted by Anthony Kelly includes details for the demolition of an existing public house and petrol station and the construction of a “mixed use town centre development”.
If given the go ahead the development will include 13 houses and five apartments, as well as a commercial unit and a detached single storey block for a “community/pre-school infant and child-minding facility”.
The application also includes details for a new public street enhancement with street parking bays, new footpaths and pedestrian crossing link to the main street, seating, new tree planning and public lighting.
The decision due date for the application is October 15.
