Keena delighted to be ‘off the mark’ for Falkirk

Aidan Keena has said that he is delighted to have got “off the mark” for new club Falkirk, as the Scottish League One side edged Clyde in the Betfred League Cup on Tuesday night.

The Mullingar native nabbed his fifth goal in four games, and his first competitive goal in a Falkirk shirt.

Just after the quarter hour mark, a long ball over the top from Bairns defender Ben Hall fell nicely into the path of the onrushing Keena, and he controlled it with his chest before slicing the ball past Clyde ‘keeper Matej Vajs with his left foot.

Clyde equalised five minutes later, and it took a second half penalty from Keena’s former Hearts teammate, Callumn Morrison, to secure the win.
