Tyrrellspass geared up for Virtual St Patrick’s Day Parade
Tyrrellspass Virtual St Patrick’s Day Parade 2021
This year, the Tyrrellspass Virtual St Patrick’s Day Parade committee have been working hard to prepare a fantastic show for the wider community, and are looking forward to presenting the Tyrrellspass Virtual St Patrick’s Day Parade this Wednesday, March 17, at 2pm.
The parade will be launched by the 2021 Virtual Grand Marshal, Ms Olive Glynne, and will feature a large number of floats, music and dance performances, songs, skits and promotional videos from local businesses, community groups and regular parade participants.
All videos have been recorded in line with current Covid-19 guidelines, or were recorded prior to the onset of the pandemic and submitted to us for inclusion.
The parade organisers would also like to invite you to view our recently broadcast video show entitled ‘Trip Down Memory Lane’, which is a short video containing footage from Tyrrellspass St Patrick’s Day Parades over the past 10 years.
This nostalgic video is available now on our YouTube channel, and was compiled by Pat Feery from Castlegreen Videos, Tyrrellspass.
The committee are currently in the process of decorating the village with brightly coloured flags and banners, and are appealing to both households and businesses in the area to decorate their homes/premises with bunting, flags, banners, window decorations and paintings.
“We are keen to show our tremendous sense of pride for both our heritage and our beautiful village at this most difficult time for all, so we would be delighted to see as much green, white and orange as possible this St Patrick’s Day,” said Rose-Elizabeth Carey, a member of the committee.
The Virtual Parade will be broadcast on the YouTube channel, ‘Tyrrellspass Virtual St Patrick’s Day Parade 2021’, and a link will be posted on the Facebook page ‘Tyrrellspass St Patrick’s Day Parade’ closer to the date.
“We would appreciate if you could share this information with friends from the area, who are living both near and far,” said Ms Carey.
“We would like to thank everyone most sincerely for their support, contributions and enthusiasm so far, and we look forward to standing together, whilst standing apart, to enjoy the 2021 Tyrrellspass Virtual St Patrick’s Day Parade.
“Go raibh míle maith agaibh!”
