Christening party of 20 face fines and prosecution

Gardaí were alerted to gathering of people at an address in the St Anthony Cottages area of Mullingar on Sunday March 21 last.

On calling to the address, gardaí discovered between 15 and 20 people in attendance at a Christening party.

According to gardaí, the owner of the property now faces prosecution for organising the gathering, while all those in attendance will received fixed penalty notices.

The fine for attending a house party in breach of Covid-19 lockdown rules in €150, while a fine of €500 faces anyone who organises a party.
