Goldsmith Festival set to continue online
One of the country's longest running literary festivals will continue this year online.
The Goldsmith International Literary Festival will take place from June 4-6 and will this year focus on the future for Irish agriculture.
The festival theme will be: 'The Deserted Village' as 'Rural virtues leave the land' - The Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability of Irish Agriculture.
Register now for a weekend pass, just €10 for all three days.
The festival will be officially opened on Friday June 4, at 7pm, by Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue and the remainder of the evening's sessions will focus on the theme of environmental sustainability.
On the Saturday, the issue of economic sustainability will be centre stage, and Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice and Prof John Fitzgerald will be among the speakers.
On the Sunday, writer John Connell will be among those taking part. He will speak on the issue 'The broken harvest – an investigation into migrant farm workers from the frontlines of change in rural America'.
