N4 road closures due to duct crossing works next week

Colas Roadbridge Joint Venture (CRJV), on behalf of TII, are carrying out transverse duct crossing works on the N4 between Junction 14 and Junction 17, close to Mullingar.

The works began on Monday May 31 and last for four weeks.

In order to carry out the works safely, a number of closures are required, and reduced temporary speed limits and short diversions will be put in place.

The majority of diversions are up and overs at junctions – for example the section of the N4 between an off- and on-slip road at a junction is closed, so traffic is diverted up the off-slip and back down the on-slip.

A summary of the works next week, with respect to closures, speed reduction and subsequent diversions is:

• Tuesday June 8 (7am to 7pm) – N4 eastbound and westbound hard shoulder running between Junction 16 and 17 – 60kmh speed limit in place

• Wednesday June 9 (7am to 7pm) – N4 EB lane 1 closed between Junction 17 and 16 – 60kmh speed limit in place

• Thursday June 10 (7am to 7pm) – N4 EB and WB closed between the off and on slips at Junction 17 (both directions) – diversion up and over at Jjunction

• Friday June 11 (7am to 7pm) – N4 WB closed between the off and on slips at Junction 17 and EB lane 2 closed – diversion up and over at junction
