Gardai increase presence in Town Park
There will be an increased Garda presence in Mullingar Town Park after a number of anti-social incidents recently.
A Garda spokesperson said that extra officers will be deployed as a deterrent at certain times of the day as there has been “issues ongoing in the park”.
“Community Policing and regular units have been tasked with more patrols in the park at certain times. We have identified key pinch points when anti-social behaviour has been occurring so we have increased the garda presence. The park is a great amenity and we want everyone to use it but ultimately it will attract a certain amount of anti-social behaviour. We have put a plan in place to try and offset it,” he said.
