Good news for Delvin street cleaning
News that the street in Delvin is swept monthly and has been swept nine times so far this year “surprised, but delighted” Cllr Frank McDermott.
At the October meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad, he said a number of residents had complained that it was not swept at all “and now I hear it was done nine times!”.
Cllr McDermott was further “delighted” that “reduce speed now” signs on the N52 outside Delvin had been “amended”. He had complained that the signs were on the wrong side of the posts.
It was back to “surprised” when Cllr McDermott was told that the bridge over the Stoneyford River, Woodtown West, Lisclogher, is not a public road.
He had asked that the council liaise with the Office of Public Works to have the bridge widened. “Maybe we’ll have another look at it, on site,” he suggested, which the council acceded to.
