Community Games swimming final creates a splash
Congratulations to all the young people who took part in their area events over the last few weeks and county finals on November 7.
Huge thank you to the young people and parents who competed and supported at the county swimming event which was held in Athlone Regional Sports Centre. Particular thanks to Patricia Cleary who supported the county event as our referee and starter. Many thanks to all our volunteers who worked together to make the county swimming final such a success in Athlone, particular thanks to Anthony Monaghan, Niki Henson, Paula Mulcahy, Loretta Fagan, Gemma Rockett, Deirdre Lowe, Audrey Manning, Joanne Gavigan and Lorna Brown.
Best of luck to all the young participants from Athlone East, Collinstown-Fore, Drumraney-Tang, Moate, Mount Temple-Baylin and Tubberclair-Glasson who placed first in their event and will now represent their area and the county at the national finals in Limerick on November 27.
Areas are to link in with Karen, our county secretary to arrange collection of their Westmeath swimming hats this week, for those competing in Limerick at the Aldi Community Games National Finals.
