This week’s lineup – Some Ones Sons, Paulie Martin and Friends, and more

As part of the Local Live Performance Scheme supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and the Westmeath County Council, events are taking place in various settings across Westmeath until the end of December.

The ‘Railway Rest Christmas Revue’ will take place in Kilbeggan on Thursday December 9 to an intimate audience when a number of Christmas themed songs, poems and stories will be performed by locals.

This event will be recorded, professionally edited and advertised for public viewing at a later date.

On Friday December 10, Some Ones Sons, a traditional folk band from Mullingar, perform in The Chambers, Mullingar and on Saturday December 11 Paulie Martin and Friends, a blues, funk and rock group, perform in Smiddy’s Bar, Mullingar. Both events are part of a four-part series of Launch Parties for the 2022 Westmeath Bachelor Festival.

Saint Sister will perform in the Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone on Saturday December 11. Saint Sister are an Irish alternative and indie folk group who have been likened to Enya, Lisa Hannigan, Cocteau Twins, and have toured across the globe over the last few years on their own and in support of Hozier, Keane, and Lisa Hannigan.

Westmeath audiences are encouraged to visit the Facebook page ‘Westmeath Local Live Performance’ and artists and event organisers’ websites and social media for regular updates and information on events.

All events will take place with most recent Covid compliances in place.
