94% of Westmeath fully vaccinated against Covid-19
Ninety four percent of the Westmeath population over the age of 12 is now fully vaccinated against Covid 19.
According to new figures from the HSE, 99.9% of Westmeath people aged over the age of 60 are fully vaccinated, while in the 50-59 age bracket its 98.6%.
The uptake is also high among those aged 40-49 (94.5%), 30-39 (92.7%) and 20-29 (88.3%). The uptake rates dip slightly when it comes to those aged 18-19 (82.2%) and 16-17 (85.9%), while 67.1% of 12 to 15 year olds are fully vaccinated.
Waterford (99.5%) has the highest vaccination rate in the country, followed by Carlow (99.4%), Wexford (97.8%) and Wicklow (97.4%).
Donegal (84.4%) and Monaghan (84.8%) and Dublin (89.3%) have the lowest vaccination rates. They are the only counties in the country with vaccination rates of less 90%.
Nationally, 93% of people over the age of 12 are fully vaccinated, while 10,271,198 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered.
