More than €2400 was raised for the Irish Red Cross Ukraine appeal at a cake sale in the Castletown Geoghegan parish hall on Sunday.

The event was organised by the Castletown Geoghegan Community Development Group, who thanked all those who baked and contributed goodies for the sale, and all those who called in and bought cakes or donated in any way to the cause.

Quiz night in Mullingar

A quiz night to help raise funds to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine takes place in Gilleran’s Bar, Harbour Street, Mullingar, on Friday, March 11 (9.30pm). Tables of four are €50 and Willie Geraghty is the quizmaster. Funds raised will be sent to the Irish Red Cross.
