World dance qualifers prepare for Belfast event
Five young dancers who are representing Leinster at the 2022 World Irish Dancing Championships in Belfast got a great send-off at their dance academy this week.
Eden McCague, Yves McCague, Faye Clarke, Lynne Clarke and Liepa Cmukaite are with the Fiona Gallagher School of Irish Dance based at Cullion, Mullingar.
Fiona said: “What a lovely sendoff our ever supportive parents treated us to last night as we celebrated our five world qualifiers, as they make their final preparations before travelling to Belfast, to represent Leinster at the 50th Irish Dance World Championships.
“These girls, supported by their classmates, parents and families, have given their all to their preparation and practice.
“Now it’s time for them to go and shine on stage and show off their hard work and talent.
“It seems like only yesterday I took you all by your hand, and welcomed you all to your very first class.
“As your teacher I am beyond proud of you all, and want you to go and enjoy this wonderful experience, making memories, competing with the best from all over the world.
“Wishing you the very best of Luck.”
The World Irish Dancing Championships take place at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast between Sunday April 10 and Sunday April 17.
