Tullamore Show celebrate Honorary Lifelong Members
The Executive of the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show made a special presentation to celebrate three Honorary Lifelong Members, Christy Maye, George Gill, and Tommy Finlay last Wednesday night, April 6, in the Bridge House Hotel.
Their dedication and commitment to the Tullamore Show Society has been remarkable over many years. The wiliness, enthusiasm and shear hard work is unmeasurable. No matter how big the challenge was there was always a solution, said a representative for the executive.
Christy Maye, a successful businessman in Tullamore and Mullingar, was one of the founder members. He was the brainchild behind the Tullamore Show. He masterminded new ideas and saw them through.
Christy held the position as PRO for many years and played a vital part in the success of the show to date.
George Gill joined the show in the early stages and held many positions, site manager, vice chair, assistant secretary and chairman in 2010. George was a great negotiator; he had an immense wealth of knowledge; his kind endearing way encouraged many volunteers along the way.
Tommy Finlay, a keen exhibitor at various shows in Ireland, and with huge expertise in the dairy section, was invited by one of the founder members many moons ago, with the view to taking over the dairy section.
Tommy’s expertise and knowledge has led to a successful Dairy Section tht continues to grow. Tommy encouraged and mentored so many over the years with his calm and pleasant manner.
“The Tullamore Show Executive wish our honorary lifelong members the very best of luck with future endeavours.
“We look forward to seeing visitor on Sunday August 14 in Butterfield Estate, Blueball.”
The closing date for Trade Stand Applications is Friday May 20; and tickets are now available on tullamoreshow.com.
