Large crowds turned out on both days of Multyfarnham GAA's Fun Weekend, which started on Saturday with a 5k Family Fun Run.
The two day event, which also included a Field Day on Sunday afternoon and a Race Night in Murtagh's Bar that evening, was a fundraiser for the club's new pitch development. Speaking to the Westmeath Examiner, chairman John Madden said that the club is grateful for the support shown by the wider community.
"It's absolutely brilliant to see so many people here supporting the club and the community. As we know, because of Covid over the last two years all of this stopped. We have reintroduced the field day and we hope to do it every year.
"This is the first year we have done it in four or five years. We want to thank everyone, all the sponsors, everyone who has turned up, all the people who have volunteered to help. The community spirit here is unbelieveable," he said.
