Heslin voted as the GAA's Footballer of the Week

John Heslin has been voted as the GAA's Footballer of the Week.

The St Loman's and Westmeath stalwart helped himself to eight points and the official man of the match award when he and his team mates overpowered Offaly in the semi-final of the GAA's new football competition in Croke Park on Sunday.

Heslin was nominated for Footballer of the Week alongside Cavan's Gearoid McKiernan and Sligo's Pat Spillane. He received 4,685 votes on the GAA's official Instagram page, which put him ahead of Spillane (4,520) and McKiernan (3,117).
