Ballinafid Multyfarnham Community Social Services Derravaragh 5m run for charity

Ballinafid and Multyfarnham Community Social Services organised the enjoyable Derravaragh 5m on the shores of Lough Derravaragh this morning.
The run and the reception afterwards in the pavilion at the lake were lively and well supported by both participants and athletes.
The social services committee members, through good organisation and cooperation, made certain that observers, runners and their supporters all enjoyed refreshments on a blustery morning.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the work of the community services, which include for example, chiropody, hair dressing, tea parties, bingo,and social excursion to points of interest.
Well done to all concerned.

Members of the Mullingar Civil Defence partnered with local volunteers to ensure that the roads around Donore were safe and secure for athletes partaking in the 5m Derravaragh run on Saturday morning, including Mary Power and Joe Gavin, Mullingar Civil Defence, and Tom Carter, Denis Nolan, and Alan McGouran on the Donore Road.
