Woodie's Mullingar raises over €4,500 for charity
There were jubilant scenes at Woodie’s Mullingar this week as it was announced they raised €4,572 during the seventh annual Woodie’s Heroes campaign this summer with help from customers, colleagues and suppliers.
A cheque was presented by the store to one of the two teams of Woodie’s cyclists taking on a total of 2,000km around Ireland, to collect the funds raised by Woodie’s stores nationwide in aid of four Irish charities: Childline by ISPCC, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, Down Syndrome Ireland, and Make-A-Wish Ireland.
A spokesperson for the store said that everyone at Woodie’s Mullingar "are blown away by the generosity and support that has been shown towards them throughout the campaign and they wish to extend a thank you to everyone who donated".
It was a proud moment for the store as they welcomed the cyclists and presented the cheque for €4,572, which will help the four chosen charities to continue their great work and remain a light that is always on, day and night, looking out for the children of Ireland and their families.
Woodie’s DIY, Home and Garden have raised over €2.5 million for charity over the last seven years and this year’s fundraising is expected to take that figure to close to €3 million. There were more ways than ever to donate this year, with customers able to add a donation to their bill at the till, online, or by text. All donations go directly to the four charities and will be divided evenly among them. There’s still time to get involved too as you can still donate online or over text:
