C-Pens now available in Westmeath Libraries
Westmeath Libraries have announced that C-Pens are now available to use in the library.
The C-Pen is a tool for anyone learning English, or for people with reading difficulties such as dyslexia.
It can also be of benefit to people with vision problems, as this portable device reads text out aloud to help with independent reading.
The in-built dictionary puts the power of the Collins and Oxford Dictionary in the user’s hands.
Parents and teachers of dyslexics may also be interested in an upcoming series of talks titled ‘Bridge the Gap’ with Mary Moran of DCodeDyslexia.
Mary’s passion lies in giving struggling readers the lifelong gift of literacy.
Talk aimed at parents and carers:
• Athlone Library, 5 November at 11.30am
Talks aimed at teachers:
• Athlone Library, 12 November at 11.30am
• Mullingar Library, 22 November at 11.30am
These projects were funded by the Dormant Accounts Fund 2022 and are part of our programmes that support the diverse communities of Westmeath.
