Loreto student wins in Soroptimist national poetry competition

Clodagh McGlynn, a transition year student at Loreto College Mullingar, has won the school section of a national poetry competition organised by the Soroptimists.

Clodagh’s poem is entitled ‘The Dawn Chorus’, and the members of Mullingar and District Soroptimists congratulate her on her success.

Miriam Murphy Woods, president, Soroptimist International Republic of Ireland, launched the competition for clubs in Ireland and all girls secondary schools to celebrate the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.

The theme of the competition was ‘Out of the Darkness’.
