Trekker 'gives something back' to LARCC
Trek for Theresa
A woman who says she “will never forget the support she received” from Cancer Support Sanctuary LARCC, Multyfarnham, organised a sponsored walk to “give something back”.
Theresa McDermott Quinn and her family and friends did a trek across Ardagh mountain on August 13 last, and in so doing raised €15,500 for LARCC.
Accepting the cheque, LARCC manager Bernie McHugh thanked Theresa and her family and everyone who helped to raise the money, which will go towards the ongoing provision of free counselling and therapies for cancer patients and their families, including children affected by cancer.
Theresa wanted to thank everyone who helped in any way, too numerous to mention individually.
In particular she paid tribute to her family and friends and the people of Ardagh and Moydow who turned out in their hundreds on the day to support the charity.
Theresa said how LARCC services were such a support and comfort to her since she first made contact in March, and she was delighted to be able to give something back, to help LARCC continue their work in cancer support in the community.
She thanked everyone from near and far who donated in person and online, and through sponsorship.
Theresa says she will never forget the support she received.
