IWA fundraising efforts continue with table quiz this evening
The Irish Wheelchair Association in Mullingar are holding a table quiz this week to help with their latest fundraising drive.
The group are known for the work they put in to generating funds to buy minibuses for their clients, and now they need €4000 to buy a therapy chair, a device that provides muscle stimulation for wheelchair users.
Thanks to the efforts of some members of their team, they have made a good start on the €4000 – Richard Ross, service co-ordinator (who has now moved to the Tullamore branch); Rosemary Rice, Elaine Kelly and Martina Leech, programme assistants at the Irish Wheelchair Association in Springfield, Mullingar, completed a sponsored walk over Bray Head to Greystones on Sunday September 25 last and raised €1500.
The table quiz is this Thursday, October 27, at the Annebrook House Hotel (8.30pm). Tables of four are €40, and there are loads of prizes. Call 044 394 7511 for more details.
The IWA thanked the sponsors who have provided vouchers in varying amounts as prizes, including the Coal Bunker, Mullingar, O’Meara’s Garden Pavilion, Buckley’s SuperValu, Pappa Ennis, Shaws Hardware, Wines Direct, Fagans, and the Value Centre.
