No plans to change crossing, say council
Action on a number of Mullingar town issues was sought by Cllr Andrew Duncan at the November meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad.
He asked that the district upgrade the zebra crossing at Bishopsgate Street to a pedestrian crossing, but was informed that the current crossing and associated road markings were deemed satisfactory.
"Accordingly," the written reply to his motion stated, "there are no plans for any alterations to the existing crossing."
At the same meeting, Cllr Duncan requested that the yellow junction box between Creative IT and CML auctioneers be reinstated.
To this request the response was that the council’s lining contractor has been assigned that work.
