Clonmellon all lit up for Christmas season
Clonmellon Tidy Towns Christmas concert this weekend
On Friday night last 2 December, the Christmas lights were turned on in Clonmellon. Sisters Dasha and Ameshia Skrobotova, originally from Ukraine, accompanied by Santa and Mrs Claus, did the official switch-on.
All children went home satisfied with selection boxes. Thanks to all who came out on the night.
Tidy Towns Christmas concert
For the last couple of years, Clonmellon Tidy Towns have held a Christmas concert to raise funds for projects in the village and surrounding areas.
This year they have invited Virginia Gospel Choir to sing in St John’s Church. They also have some local singers, Samantha McKenna, Brendan Leavy Noel O’Neill and Shay Leavy.
Because of the financial pressures families are under this time of year, the charge is €10 a ticket.
All funds go back to the community on projects during the year.
The committee thank all who have supported them over the last four years and all who give up their time to help.
They look forward to seeing everyone Saturday 10 December in St John’s Church for two hours of lovely Christmas music.
