WATCH: Omniplex opens new state of the art cinema in Mullingar

The Omniplex Cinema Group opened its state of the art new cinema at Harbour Street, Mullingar on Friday evening with the creation of 15 new jobs.

The five screen cinema features a MAXX RECLINE auditorium complete with 15-metre-wide by 2-story-high screen, electric recliner seats and DTS:X™ Immersive Audio. All five screens feature Double Sofa Beds and the latest ‘Barco next generation LASER projection technology’.

Mark Anderson, Director of Omniplex Cinemas commented, “We’re delighted to open our newest cinema in Mullingar just in time for Christmas. Our MAXX RECLINE auditorium is our most comfortable yet with electric reclining armchairs and DTS:X™ Immersive Audio, it simply must be experienced to be believed.

“We are particularly excited to open on the day of the most anticipated movie release of the year ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ which must be seen on the big screen and there is no better place to see it than in Mullingar Omniplex,” Mr Anderson added.

In addition to Avatar-The Way of Water, which is being shown in 2D and 3D, the other movies being showing this week are Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical, Violent Night, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the Christmas classic, Home Alone.
