Further adjournment in Posschier murder case

The case of a 28-year-old man accused of the murder of his father near Milltownpass last year has been adjourned again at Mullingar District Court.

Ross O’Rourke, of no fixed abode and currently in custody at Cloverhill Prison, is charged with the murder of Stefan Nivelles Posschier.

Mr O’Rourke appeared before Judge Bernadette Owens by video link at this morning’s sitting of the court. He was represented by Ms Andrea Callan, BL.

Sgt Sheila Kelly, appearing for the Director of Public Prosecutions, said that the case file has been finalised and sent to the DPP’s office, and a further four weeks will be required before the DPP will be in a position to give directions.

Mr O’Rourke consented to a four-week adjournment, and he will appear again before the court by video link on February 2.

The body of Mr Posschier, a Belgian-born psychic and healer, was found at his home in Rattin, between Kinnegad and Milltownpass, on October 25 last.
