More than €4000 raised for charity at Railway Market Mullingar
More than €4000 was raised for charity during the Railway Christmas Market 2022. The main charities that benefitted were: The Make A Wish Foundation; North Westmeath Hospice; Temporary Emergency Accommodation Midlands (TEAM); and St Vincent de Paul
Patrica Magee, market organiser, thanked the Santa volunteers and elf volunteers. She also expressed thanks to the sponsors: Lift Hire Ireland, Buckley’s SuperValu, Fagan’s Toymaster, Annebrook House Hotel, Bloomfield House Hotel, Cleary Electrical, Specsavers, Wines Direct, Park Mullingar Hotel, The Old Stand, Domino’s Pizza, Apache Pizza, Nissan Mullingar, Value Centre, Mullingar, Slanemore Farm and Nursery, Mullingar Arts Centre, Mullingar Town Band, Westmeath Arts Office and Westmeath County Council.
The singers, musicians and dancers added tremendously to the Christmas atmosphere. Among them were Enda Cassidy, John Smyth, Angie Lynch and Sweet Tunes, Aisling Gaudet and The Song Club, Mullingar Town Band, Danny Murray, Kevin Lyster and The Academy of Irish Dance Rochfortbridge, Rose Carey of Celtic Blondes, The Sneaky Tequilas and The Christmas Fairy.
The Railway Christmas Market 2022 was supported by Mullingar Chamber and Ms Magee thanked Aisling Coleman and her office team for that support.
Congratulations to the lucky winners of the raffles over the four weeks. Prizes were sponsored by The Railway Market stallholders and Mullingar Chamber; the Winners included: Mary Hogg, Iona Hussey, Cian O’Reilly, Collette McEntee, Breda O’Carroll, Lela Cullen and Colm Bradley.
The Railway Market also supported the following groups during The Christmas Market 2022: Empowerment Plus, Skills Exchange, The Dog Shelter, Mullingar Town Band, Transition Year/ Young Entrepreneur, Chronic Pain in Children and The International Community.
